Official Statement in response to the Covid-19 Virus

Dear citizens of Lithua,

Lithua wishes to extend it's arms in warmth and kindness to everyone affected by the coronavirus.

We are proud to announce that we have had only 2 potential cases of the Covid-19 virus and as such, clamped down immediately and from February onwards introduced social distancing.

The St David's national holiday was spent in quiet reflection, and the first official Lithuan Garden Party was cancelled.

As both of our suspected cases were untested there is of course no way of knowing for certain, however this would not have changed the outcome due to the severity of the contagion.

We are a very new nation, and therefore it goes without saying that according to our values we are first and foremost, citizens of the world.
As global citizens it is also imperative that we show love, compassion and understanding to our foreign neighbours.

We express our deepest condolences for the many lives lost throughout the world.

It is truly a time to exercise humility, gratitude and generosity to those who have less than ourselves, and to take time to reflect on the good that we as citizens of Lithua can spread into the greater world. Particularly within those hardest hit, in the wider community.

We are all ambassadors for what we believe in, and the values we uphold in daily life. As such we all share a collective responsibility to be of help to those that need it the most.

It is our dearest wish to be an example to all micronations in our kindness, inclusivity and empathy during this difficult time.

Yours,

H.R.H, Princess Clare of Lithua
